Mint Julep

This Mint Julep is perfect for Kentucky Derby Day. It has a cool, minty, refreshing flavor and it’s made with only five ingredients! It is classic drink that can be made in minutes at home! And is perfect for a hot day!

If you don’t know much about the Kentucky Derby, here are some fun facts! The Kentucky Derby takes place on the first Saturday in May every year. It is known as the most prestigious horse races in the world, and is the longest continual sporting event in America. It typically draws in crowds close to 155,000 people, which is crazy! Serving Size – 1 Drink

2 oz. of Bourbon
2 oz. of simple syrup
1 oz. of Tonic Water (substitute for Sparkling Water or Regular Water)
Crushed Ice
6 mint leaves + more for garnish


1. Muddle mint leaves with simple syrup in the bottom of serving glass. Use a wooden spoon or a muddler to muddle ingredients together. 

2. Pour in bourbon, water, and top the glass with crushed ice. 

3. Give the drink a little stir, garnish with a sprig of mint & enjoy!
